Be the Best At... Using Social Media

Social media has grown so much over the last few years and it seems most people are using it on a regular basis. However, even on line you still remember to use your manners! Here are my top tips for making social media a fun environment for everyone...

My top tip is if you wouldn't say it to somebody's face, don't post it online. Just because your behind a computer screen, it doesn't mean that your posts or comments won't offend or upset other people.

My Second tip is to always re-read a post or comment before you post it and check the tone of what you are saying is correct. There is nothing worse than something that reads as if your bragging. Likewise nobody wants to read you complaining all the time.

My Third tip is do not overshare - we do not need to know what you are doing every minute of everyday. Likewise don't post too many holiday snaps - Although you had a great time, other people weren't there and won't have the same experiences as you. A handful of pictures is enough to show people what an amazing holiday you had.

My Fourth tip is always ask someone before you upload or tag them in a photo. Just because you think its a good idea, doesn't mean another person will and it may cause upset.

Lastly a very important tip is don't hold arguments or post sad break up posts online. It only means someone will have an opinion on it and most of the time they say something you don't want to hear. Some things are just meant to be kept private.
