About a year ago, I really started getting into using Soap & Glory products and have been trying out most of the range through the last year. Earlier in the year I purchased the Scrub 'EM And Leave 'EM body buff to get my body ready to summer. It smelt absolutely amazing, with notes of Bergamot, Blackcurrant, Magnolia, Freesia, Vanilla and musk containing Babassu oil, sea salt, Jojoba oil and Mandarin oil I knew it was going to nourish my skin. When apply it the texture was strange. For starters it looked like someone had dropped hundreds and thousands (that should be on top of a cake) in it.
Following the instructions, I took a scoopful of the product and tried to apply it to my skin but I seemed to get in such a mess and dropped half of my scoop before I had even begun.
In terms of it being a scrub, I didn't feel like it had really been worked into my skin. It almost felt like I had just applied a shower gel. I was applying this whilst stood in the bath because I don't have a shower at the moment and I just have to mention that if you sat on one of the little balls you soon knew it! Not only that but although I washed it off thoroughly, the little balls went everywhere and a woke up and found some in my bed!
In terms of them washing away, by using the product all over my body, it took ages for it to go down the drain and at one point I though it was going to block it!
So later in the year I thought I would try another scrub from the range...
The Sugar Crush Body Scrub
This contains smashed brown sugar, sweet lime, almond oil and macadamia grains but all you could really smell was lime. So again following the instructions, I scooped and rubbed on my skin and I have to say it was so much easier! Although it looked like it had little pips in it, the formula was really easy to apply and felt like it was actually working the skin. It was quick to wash off and once I had washed it off it was gone - The only thing left was the lovely fresh scent of lime.
Overall, looking at the formula in the packaging, although the buff looked pretty it didn't really do what it was meant to. However, the scrub, which looked like it had come straight from a bush tucker trial on I'm a celeb, really worked into the skin and did the job I had bought it to do. Therefore I declare the winner Soap & Glory's Sugar Crush Body Scrub!
Until next time...
