On The 12th Day Of Christmas ... Making A Gingerbread House
So this Christmas I decided that I wanted to make my own gingerbread house. I felt that everyone was making them last year, but I just didn't have the time. I have to admit I'm not the best at making things such as cakes etc so when I saw that Lidl had brought out a complete kit, I couldn't wait to have a go! Lets face it, if I can do it, anyone can.
The kit itself comes with almost everything you need. All you have to add your self is some cocktail sticks and some icing sugar. Its so easy to follow the step by step guide, making it perfect to do with children.
First of all, you have to put all the pieces together and hold in place with cocktail sticks. As a top tip check both sides of the piece to decide which is better to be seen, as on one side of mine, part of it was damaged so I hid that on the inside.
Next its time to add the icing sugar to glue it in place. This is easier said than done and takes a lot of patience, however, once it is done the house really starts to take shape.
Also add icing sugar in other places, before adding the sweets as decoration so that they stay in place.
Finally, after several hours of drying, all that's left to do is remove the cocktail sticks and enjoy!
