On the 18th day of Christmas ... A day in the life of Kelly Diane

Hiya, and welcome to the 18th day of Christmas. I honestly can't believe how quickly the time is going and that it really isn't long to go until the big event itself! Today I thought I would do something a little bit different and take you with me for a day out. This year I have been super organised (which has surprised both me and my family), I had managed to get all of my presents sorted and wrapped by the 2nd of December so I didn't have any of the mad panic at the last minute to find gifts for people. Therefore when I was given the chance to go to Cribbs Causeway in Bristol I jumped at the chance to be able to have a look around without the pressure of buying anything.

I love Cribbs at Christmas time - not only do they have the largest ice rink in the south west, but you can ride on Santa's train around the Mall AND Santa lives in a beautiful castle.

It's about an hours drive away so I make sure I leave nice and early. Its one of the most popular go-to places for a lot of people so I know it is going to be busy, especially as their is free parking. So in order to get a space, we arrive before any of the shops have even opened!

First stop is a walk around the outside to see the Christmas decorations and the ice rink. Unfortunately, as there were a lot of people there attempting to skate, I didn't take any pictures as I don't think people would appreciate it however, I have decided that I'm going to attempt it next year so watch this space.

This beautiful castle is home to Santa himself! It is so big and impressive and looks really pretty. Next to it are little wooden huts dotted all around (like the one in the photo), selling all manor of things from gloves and hat to food and drink.

Also dotted around were these adorable hippos in various colours complete with painted toe nails!

Meet my mum who loves hippos and just couldn't resist having her picture taken with one of them.

After that it was time to do what I love doing best ... shopping! I didn't buy too much however I did pick up my Christmas lush things as well as a couple of make up things that I can't wait to try out and let you know what I think.

After a LOT of looking around the shops its time to go and find something to eat for lunch and I had already seen these Bratwurst hotdogs so I trekked back out into the cold to the wooden huts to buy one and I have to say it was delicious and very filling.

By this time, it was time to go home so I thought I would quickly share with you my make up and outfit. In terms of make up, I kept it really simple by just wearing some Lancome mascara and Figs & Rouge lip balm. My necklace is from Dolly Bow Bow's autumn box and I have to say I love it - it just goes with everything!

My jumper in from Red Herring which I bought in the January sales at the beginning of the year. It has navy hearts on the white collar and the same at the bottom of the jumper although you can't see that in the photo. The skirt is from Matalan and is really thick and warm which was perfect for this day out as it was freezing. My boots (below) are from So Fabulous and are really comfy. With a small heel and quilted detail on the back it just pulled the outfit together.

The journey home felt like it was going to last forever. It was really wet and windy and stressful trying to get home and I wasn't even driving! By the time I got home, I just had a soak in the bath before lying on the sofa, watching TV.

Don't forget to join me tomorrow to see what's in store
