L'Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Clay Review

Hello everyone!

I hope you are all well, I'm back with a product review which I feel like I haven't done for ages. I first saw the L'Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Clay range advertised in a magazine the week it was released and I literally left the house minutes later and went out to buy it, which is unusual for me. I tend to wait for a couple of weeks and read other people's reviews before I go out and buy something new.

The range itself consists of a pre-shampoo clay mask, shampoo, conditioner and dry shampoo. I am yet to find a shop that has the dry shampoo in stock, so I can't comment on how well that works. However, I was able to pick up the clay mask, shampoo and conditioner which I have been trying out for the last few weeks.

First of all I have to mention the packaging. I no I shouldn't but I always judge a product on its packaging. If it isn't going to look right on display in my bathroom, then I am less likely to pick it up and try it. The design of the packaging is the same as the other L'Oreal Elvive products but the aqua colour looks really fresh and high end.

The range has been designed to control the problem that I lot of women face, me included - Oily roots but dry ends. As someone who has long hair, I have struggled with this for a long time and find myself having to wash my hair more often to combat the oiliness which in turn makes the ends even dryer.

What makes the L'Oreal Evlive Extraordinary Clay range so great is the use of 3 different clays that work together to break that horrible cycle. This range has the technology behind it to do what other shampoos & conditioners fail on.

On to the products and the first one to use is the pre-shampoo treatment, the Clay Masque. First of all I was alarmed when I saw that the colour of the product matches the colour of the bottle. I thought, What happens if it doesn't wash out?. However, this was not the case - it was so easy to use, that I have re-evaluated my haircare routine to include the masque. You simply just section you hair as you would when colouring it and apply the masque onto dry hair. I will warn you it is cold which if you are applying it in the morning like I first did, it will definitely wake you up! You then leave yourself looking like a sea monster for roughly five minutes to allow the masque to work, which is just enough time to make yourself a cuppa. You then wash your hair with the shampoo and conditioner as you would normally which is why it is so easy. There is no hard work to it as you are just washing your hair as you would usually.

In terms of how long it lasts between washing, I would say I have definately managed to get three days out of it and could probably squeeze to four if I could get my hands on the dry shampoo!

I absolutely love this range and I highly recommend trying it out for yourself if you suffer from the same oily roots/dry ends that I do.

Until next time
