A Different Type Of Christmas Present

Hello everyone, welcome back to my blog. Before I get into today's post, I just wanted to mention a goal I have set for myself this month, which is to reach 30 followers on my Bloglovin' page. I really want to achieve this by the end of January and would love your help to do so.

Now I've mentioned that, its time to get on with today's post. Now I know that this post is a little bit out of date now that Christmas and New Year is well and truly over. However, if you have seen my what I got for Christmas video on my YouTube channel, you may remember that I mentioned that I had been given the December Birchbox for Christmas and that I would show you what I got inside it over here on my blog. Up until now, I just never got round to writing the post but I loved the products that were inside so much, I still really wanted to write it.

Before receiving this Birchbox, I had never had one before, although I did have a Glossybox subscription for about a year and a half so I was not new to the whole beauty subscription box. What I love about this box is how compact it is compared to how bulky the Glossybox's were. When you open the box you get this cute pouch that has all the products in and you also have the magazine as well where you can find lots of information about the products inside the box.

Without further ado here is the products that were inside. First up is the Fierce Flicks Eyeliner by Ciate. I always think of Ciate as a nail polish brand so I'm really excited to try this out. There is also a great section in the booklet that shows a step by step guide of how to do three different eyeliner looks which I definitely going to try because I am absolutely hopeless at eyeliner.

When I saw that there was a benefit product I knew it was a good value for money box. I have the High Beam from  Benefit and now I can say I also have the Benetint although I don't think I will use them on both my lips and cheeks at the same time. I have always loved receiving Benefit products in subscription boxes because they normally charge quite a bit for even the smallest sample size so I would never normally go out and purchase them myself.

I have wanted to dry some Elemis products for ages because so many other YouTubers and beauty bloggers rave about how great they feel on your skin so I can't wait to try this Hydra-Boost day cream. I don't mind spending that little bit more money on my skincare products so if I get on with this, I will definitely purchase a full sized version.

Percy & Reed is a brand I had never heard of before but now that I have received the Perfectly Perfecting Wonder Balm I am seeing the brand advertised everywhere. It sounds like a great all in one product which I'm looking forward to using with my new Babyliss Curl Secret.

The last item inside was by one of my favourite brands Anatomicals. There products always work well with my skin and I love the packaging off all of them. I am excited to try the coconut and mango body lotion because I have tried several of their body lotions with different scents and have always loved them.

I would never have thought of giving a beauty subscription box as a present but now I know that I will do so for sure. I love beauty subscription boxes anyway because they are a great way to find new products to try out without spending lots of money on full size products. I am thinking that I will order another Birchbox very soon although I think I will only get a 3 month subscription so that I make sure I actually use all the products I receive.

If you use any other subscription boxes then leave me a comment or tweet me because I really want to try a few more this year and see what is out there.

Until next time

  1. Great post! I used to get Birchboxes but I didn't love how everything was samples, I get Look Incredible boxes now and they're amazing!!

  2. Some lovely products here! I used to subscribe to Birchbox but felt it didn't give me anything I would actually use. I'm glad you received the products you like! I suppose these boxes are all about trying something new.
