My January Make Up Look
Hello everyone, first of all I wanted to thank all of you who have started following me on Bloglovin', getting me closer to my January goal of 30 by the end of the month. There is still plenty of time to help me achieve this by clicking this link - FOLLOW ME ON BLOGLOVIN HERE Onto today's post, I have recently tried to shake up what make up products I'm using and challenged myself to start using some different ones. I have loved trying products that I had I admit forgotten about, you know the ones I mean, that are right at the back of your collection. With this challenge in mine, I have put together this make up look which I have been loving in recent weeks and which I will probably wear throughout January.
So starting off with the main tools I am using and this really hasn't changed. I still absolutely love my Rosie for Autograph brushes, they are such great value for money and they work really well on my skin.
For base make up I have turned to Collection for both my foundation and my concealer. I love this Naturally Matt foundation because not only is it easy to apply but it's a light coverage and doesn't look clumpy on my skin. There is such a great colour range as well, with ivory being the perfect match for my skin. I haven't changed my concealer because why change something that works so well and for me that is Collection's Illuminating Touch concealer. This just works so well on my skin, brightening as well as concealing to give my skin that extra glow. My favourite thing about this product is the packaging, in particular the twist action at the bottom, to allow the product to come out, This means that gone are the days when my concealer leaked all over my make up bag. To apply the foundation I use my trusted beauty blender. For the concealer, I use these mini versions from Primark to allow me to get write into the corners of my eyes.
For highlighter, I have gone back to the Glow All Out by Soap & Glory. I must admit that the reason I have never used it much before was because it was always so shimmery, however I think paired with a matt foundation it looks great.
In terms of contouring, I'm very much a take it or leave it girl. I think its because I never normally give myself enough time to do it in the morning. However, I received this Get Up & Glow palette by Barry M for Christmas and have really enjoyed trying out the different colours. I have also found that after eating to much over the festive period, I need to contour my face a bit more! Out of the two blushers in this palette, surprisingly I am perfecting the peach toned one more.
Last year I was forever forgetting to do something with my eyebrows so I set myself the challenge of keeping them in check and the product I am currently trying out is the Brow This Way duo. I will admit that I have had this for a couple of months now and you can see I have barely used it. It is something I definitely need to work on this year.
For eyeshadow I am currently loving the Fleur De Force quad and I think this is the colour Luna Rose. There is such a great mix of blendable colours that I can create different looks with. So far I have used the lightest shade for a basic look, the two slightly darker shades for a light smokey eye and then going in with the darkest shade for a night out. The formula of these shadows are so creamy that I actually forget that I have them on sometimes.
For mascara I have switched my trusted Lancome one for the Benefit Bad Gal Lash can you believe! Its actually only for probably a month because this is just a sample size but still! I have to say that the product itself is great and lasts really well. I was a bit terrified of poking myself in the eye with the brush because it is huge but I surprisingly quite like it. I'm just not sure I like it enough to buy the full size.
Lastly, to complete this look is of course a lipstick and I was given this one by Autograph in a set for Christmas. The formula of these are so creamy and moisturing that they almost feel more like a lip butter. I love how pigmented they are too, the colour in the packaging is exactly the colour you get and I really want to try out some more of the colours they do.
And this is the finished look, which is perfect for everyday and only takes me about 20 minutes which is great. As I've mentioned quite a few times in this post, I received some of these products for Christmas so I will leave the link to my channel HERE where you can find my what I got for Christmas video, as well as plenty of others, so please please please make my day and subscribe to my channel.
Until next time
