A Letter To My Mum
From the very beginning, you cared for me, taught me knew things and was patient with me. You laughed at my bad jokes and would spend ages tidying my playhouse, only for me to make a mess in it 10 minutes later. You took me on days out to the beach and brought along a picnic of my favourite foods and always treated me to an ice cream at the end of the day. You said my drawing were good, even when they really weren't and you made sure I was always dressed well.
You cleaned and cared for my cuts and grazes when I fell over and put up with the numerous friends I would bring home. You helped me with my homework and spent months trying to read the Water Babies to me. You held me and wiped away the tears when I was upset and made any anxieties I had go away.
Sometimes I upset you and said something hurtful, especially in my teenage years but you were still always there for me. You always believed in me and supported me, protected me. As I've grown older, I've realised how much you did for me and still do.
I am so proud to call you my mum and so grateful that you are mine. Throughout the years your love, support and friendship has been unconditional. You are not only my mum, you are my best friend too and that will never change. I hope you have not just a lovely Mother's Day but a wonderful year ahead too because you truly deserve it.
With love always
