My Updated Everyday Skincare Routine

Hello everyone, hope you are all well. Before I get onto today's post, please make sure you are following my blog on Bloglovin' and that you are subscribed to My YouTube Channel so that you stay up to date with all of my upcoming content.

I have recently been suffering from breakouts and my skin just in general hasn't had a healthy glow. I've noticed it even more when I have gone to put my make up on because it just doesn't sit right on my skin. I spent some time looking back at what my skincare routine had recently been and I realised that to be honest, I had been neglecting my skin majorly. Whilst I had cleaned my skin in the morning, it was only so that it looked clean and although I applied a face mask in the evening at least one a week, it was more because it has become a habit. I don't know what had made me suddenly like this, other than maybe a bit of the blues, because all I really wanted to do was snuggle up in bed. I no longer gave myself the time to look after my skin, it was simply a cats lick and a promise and I was out the door.

Of course, this needed to change and so I looked at my extensive skincare products waiting to be used and selected a few to try. Some of you may remember that I finally bought the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish in the January sales so I knew that this was going to be the main point of my new skincare routine because I simply couldn't wait any longer to try it.

From my December Birchbox I selected the Elemis Hydra-Boost Day Cream. Elemis is a brand that I have wanted to try for a long time now but have never really had the budget for it. I will admit though that I have been pleasantly surprised by how little of the product you actually have to use. In fact I have used less than a 5p piece drop every morning and it has more than covered my whole face!

I always try to use an eye cream as well because over time I have realised that the area around my eyes needs slightly different attention to the rest of my face. I therefore went through my collection and found a small sample pot of the Murad Hydro-Dynamic Ultimate Moisture For Eyes cream. I think I received this in a glossy box but the pot is so small it was always at the bottom of the pile. In fact so small is the pot that I even forgot to include it in the above photo!

By changing the key elements in my skincare routine and going back to basics my skin certainly feels a lot healthier and I think its got its glow back which is in perfect time for Spring. So far I am absolutely loving using the cleanse & polish, so much so that I'm finding that I want to take my make up off and cleanse my skin as soon as I get home from work. The Elemis day cream is leaving my skin softer for longer rather than my favourite Clinique moisture surge which gives you an instant boost. I am still undecided with regards to the Murad eye cream at the moment, because, although it feels great on my skin, I haven't seen any amazing results that would make me choose it over any other eye cream and so I think there are some much more affordable ones. However, it is still early days and it might magically transform my eye area.

I hope you have enjoyed this updated skincare routine post. Feel free to leave me any product recommendations that you think I will love too!

Until next time
