Birchbox August 2017

Hello everyone, so a couple of months ago, I took out a subscription for Birchbox, because I wanted to try out some new products that I hadn't heard of before and also because I had a discount code so why not! I never quite got round to writing a post of the July box but I thought from August on wards, I could share with you what I get in each box.

If you have been following my blog for quite a while, you may remember that I used to be subscribed to Glossybox and I always looked forward to receiving my box each month packed full of goodies. After a while, I found that the products I was being sent weren't appealing to me, so I cancelled my subscription and tried to use up all of the products I had been sent over the months. At Christmas, one of my friends gifted me the December Birchbox and I fell in love with it straight away. There are two main things that make Birchbox appeal to me more than Glossybox does - the first is that you get choices. For example, last month, I received an email asking me which colour of make up bag I would like to receive out of a choice of two colours. This month, I received a similar email which asked which design of make up brush I would prefer. The second thing I like about Birchbox is just that - the box. Whilst with glossybox, they changed the colour or pattern of the box, that was about it. With Birchbox, the December box was a cute pull apart design which now holds all of my stationary, whilst the July and August boxes were more like drawers. They are so much more practical that pretty boxes that you can only stack in a corner, instead, these drawers are sat on my dresser containing samples of make up that I want to try out.

Onto the August box and more importantly, what was inside...

As I mentioned above, the box is more of a useful drawer storage with a beautiful blue patterned design.

The first item and probably my most favourite in this months box is this shadow stick by LOC in the colour out of your shell. This goes on like a dream and literally takes seconds. I then just use my finger to blend it out slightly and I'm done. It even lasts all day without the need to re-apply.

Next up is this hand cleansing gel my Merci Handy, in the scent hello sunshine. Its the perfect size to fit in my handbag and smells more like a perfume than your average hand gel without being over-powerful.

I've always wanted to try products from Bumble and bumble because so many people rave about them so I can't wait to try out this conditioner.

I've never heard of Cargo Cosmetics before but if this blusher/bronzer product in the colour sunset beach is anything to go by, I can't wait to try out more products from them. The colour pigmentation is great, with a little going a long way and it has staying power too!

Last but not least, I finally own a Spectrum brush! This was the item I got to choose the design of and look how pretty it is. I will admit that as of yet I haven't actually used it because I don't want to get it dirty, however it does feel super soft on my skin, so when I finally do decide to use it, I know I will love it.

Where else to find me

Until next time

  1. Ive been looking for a new subscription box so will definitely consider this ine. I liked the fact thee box was also a drawer and that spectrum brush is beautiful!

    Amina xx

  2. Birch boxes are always so beautiful. I had a 3 month subscription and the contents were amazing but I found them a little unreliable is a box went missing. But, you can't fault them on the box itself. They are the queens of the subscription box world x
