Birchbox September 2017

Hello everyone, after a little bit of drama this month with my Birchbox getting lost in the post, I am finally here with a look inside what I got for September. As a side note, the customer service team were really quick to respond and super helpful which surprised me as I've heard so many bad things.

Onto the box and first of all, how colourful is the box this month. September's box is a collab with Oliver Bonas with the them work hard, play hard & be kind which I think is a great motto to live by. I love how colourful the box is and I also paid extra for the candle which I'm currently burning as I right this - it smells amazing!

As well as the amazing products which I will get onto in a moment, there was also a 15% off voucher code which instantly had me looking at the Oliver Bonas site to see what I could buy. I'm still undecided but if I do decide on something I will be sure to let you know. Also inside the box was some stickers which is something I don't normally use, however one was of a heart with the motto inside and I actually used this as an Instagram photo, which came out really well.

Polaar IcyMagic Instant Eye Contour Energiser

So recently, with all the travelling up and down the country I've been doing, I've found that its been a struggle to get to and stay asleep so when I saw this eye energiser in this months box I was excited to try it. I normally use one from Simple skincare so I thought I would try something new to compare them. The RRP for this product is £22 which personally I don't think is worth it. I can't say that I can see a noticeable difference and it doesn't feel as cooling as the Simple skincare one I normally use does. I'm going to keep using it to see if it makes a difference after a while but I'm not holding out much hope!

Dr. PawPaw Original Clear Balm

I have heard so many great things about this product from other YouTubers and Bloggers that I was super excited to try it when I saw it in the box. This is marketed as a multi-use product, although so far I've only used it as a lip balm and as a hand moisturiser. It says you can also use it for split ends as well as to soothe sunburn but as I haven't had either of those recently, I haven't been able to put that to the test. However, first impressions are that it is super moisturising without being greasy and soaks nicely into my skin. I have thrown it straight into my handbag and am now using it all the time on the go.

Manna Kadar Fantasy 3-in-1 Blush, Highlighter, Eyeshadow

I love multi-use skincare products but I'm always sceptical when it comes to make up ones. For example, the benefit lip & tint never normally works for me because I don't like my cheeks to be the same colour as my lips. However I was interested to try out this 3-in-1 product to see what it was going to look like. First impressions, it looked a bit too dark for me to use as either a highlighter or a blusher so I wasn't sure that I would like the product. The formula feels lovely and soft which I love because it don't like to feel like I'm wearing make up if that makes sense. I always prefer things that feel natural on the skin. In terms of an eyeshadow it has great pigmentation for an everyday look but I probably wouldn't wear it in the evening because its not bold enough for me. Using a little bit as a highlighter was great because it has the right amount of shimmer without being over the top. I don't think I would use this product as a blusher because the shade on me looks more like a bronzer as its too dark. With a RRP of £15 I'm not sure I would repurchase this product but I will definitely keep it in my collection and use it mainly as a highlighter.

ARROW BOOST Colour Enhancing Lip Balm

With Autumn/Winter coming, I love using lip balms so I will admit that I applied this product as soon as it arrived. So many lip balms claim that they are the perfect product, that they will leave your lips moisturised for hours but I've found that this is very rarely true. The mango seed butter in this lip balm has meant that my lips feel soft and hydrated all day without the need to reapply. Whats more, I'm not really sure how the whole pH thing works but the colour it gives my lips makes me feel like I don't need to add anything else to them. I haven't work a lipstick or gloss for well over a week and I haven't minded one bit!

Beauty Protector Protect & Detangle

I am yet to use this product but I will certainly be taking it away with me in November when I go away. It claims to condition, minimise frizz, detangle, protects colour and added shine not grease. If this is the case, then I can see myself buying the full sized product because it will save a lot of space and money if I can use one product that does everything I need it to. I love that its free from parabens and sulphates because recently I've been really trying to keep an eye on what chemicals I'm using on myself and the environment.

So that is everything I received in this months box. I have to say I'm really enjoying receiving Birchbox every month and I am loving the wide range of products I'm getting to try out. I can't wait to see what is in next months box already! As always I will leave my links down below so make sure you check them out.

Until next time
