Blogmas Day 22 - Winter Skincare Routine

Hello everyone, so the weather has definitely changed and its certainly a lot colder now! Because of this, I have recently changed my skincare routine and thought I would share with you what products I'm currently using.

At this time of year, I'm constantly going into different room temperatures. At work, its relatively cold, so when I get home, I put the heating straight on and make myself warm and cosy. Because of this, I always find that my skin reacts and becomes a lot dryer. I also like to spent as much time as possible in my warm bed in the mornings and so I have tried to work around this in my routine.

As I've already mentioned, I am definitely not a morning person so I usually just cleanse my skin with the Garnier micellar water. I do my main cleanse in the evening so I feel like I just need to freshen up in the morning. To add a bit of moisture to my skin, I then add some of the Clinique All About The Eyes cream above and below my eyes before using the Clinique anti blemish cream on the rest of my face and neck.

When I return home from work, I like to use my Garnier micellar water again to take off any make up so that my skin can breathe better. Before bed, I then use the Clinique mild soap liquid to properly wash my face before using their Clarifying lotion. I always try to leave it at the for about 30 minutes so that the lotion works into my skin better. I then return to the bathroom to put on some more of the All About The Eyes cream and a night cream. I currently alternate between two products for this. The first is the Superdrug Vitamin E night cream and the second is the Nuxe 24hr moisture cream.

At least once a week I also try to do a face mask depending on what I feel my skin needs more of. Typical favourites are my Soap & Glory hot cloth cleanser and Garnier moisture bomb sheet mask.

Overall, I definitely spend more time on my skin in the evening because I have more time. I've come to realise that less is more and that its better to sometimes just let your skin breathe rather than piling lots of products onto my face. I'm also trying to use more natural ingredients on my skin so if you have any recommendations then please let me know and I'll be back tomorrow with another Blogmas post.

  1. Hi, my skincare regime doesn’t change during the winter but I do make sure that I put more moisturiser on my legs as they get affected by the cold.

  2. The only thing I put on my face is the micellar water from Garnier and I know it is not enough. I need to take better care of my skin in winter! xx corinne

  3. Fantastic post! I use micellar water and it really makes your skin feel cleaner. The soap and glory hot cloth cleanser sounds like something I need in my life. I need to use face masks more often! Thank you so much for the recommendations! xx

  4. This is a great post! And those products look amazing, am i true lover of the Garnier Micellar Water too, it’s just lush!

  5. My sister loves the Garnier micellar water! She always says how good it is, but I've never actually tried it. I usually do more skincare stuff in the evening too so I don't have to wake up earlier haha
